Phil Jerrod

Phil Jerrod

It’s another unmissable line-up. Headliner and Brighton local PHIL JERROD has just won Best Festival Debut of 2015 at Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival and was in the Top 5 for Chortle’s Best Newcomer. Such is the buzz about his highly original stream-of-consciousness style and his debut show Neanderthal that he’s been snapped up by comedy “king-maker” Off the Kerb. He is sure to be all over our TV screens very soon. If you haven’t seen him yet here’s your chance to check him out, live!

“Cynical, astute and impassioned… Phil Jerrod is a talent who, on this impressive debut, seems destined to become a comedy connoisseurs’ favourite” CHORTLE

In support, also with a longer set, is Scottish comedian STEPHEN CARLIN. One of Charity Chuckle’s favourites he appeared in the Alternative Comedy Experience and Stewart Lee Presents The Ten Best Stand-ups in the World Ever.

“Ready to become at the very least a cult favourite among fans of the sharper end of stand-up.”  THE GUARDIAN

Stephen Carlin:

1385324_10152254406265516_2101771525_nPHIL LUCAS is best known in Brighton for his fake planning notices, his “where to sit on the beach” map that was published in The Argus, and his recent joke application to go on The Apprentice, that made the national papers! Look out for his new batch of postcards in various Brighton newsagents. You can find pictures on twitter @PhilLucas.

ELLIOT STEEL was in the final of the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year Award 2014 aged just 17. Following impressive performances and wowing audiences at The Latitude, V and Reading festivals, Elliot Steel is the new must-see comic name to watch out for in 2015.

JAKE HOWIE provides a fun and frisky look at the culture of today’s world. Vibrant and engaging.

Compere is JULIE JEPSON “Always an excellent compere, Julie had us shrieking with laughter. Exceptional. 5 stars” LATEST

Charity Chuckle often sells out, so don’t miss out, book the summer shows right here right now! We’re lucky enough to have our favourite award-winning comedians coming back to play with us, along with some fantastic comedians from the USA who are visiting us for the first time! You’ll want to book May… See 2015

Remember the Stewart Lee, Zoe Lyons & Jim Holland show in July 2014? If you missed it, Stewart Lee did a 55 minutes of new material for a select little audience of 76. It was quite a show – he loved it, we loved it! Turns out Brighton is an interesting testing ground for new stand-up because we live in a strange liberal bubble, the only place in the UK to have a flash dance with a Green MP. Until May 2015 anyway.

With this in mind, this summer Charity Chuckle is delighted to offer PREVIEWS of brand new shows and material from top stand-up comedians, and put them together with other amazing live comics for all the experimental comedy fun you can have outside the Edinburgh Fringe. Sign up for our newsletter/blog for all the latest info, or even better, BOOK ONLINE now.

  1. Hello Kerry – thank you for a great show last night – really enjoyed myself and it was great to meet you as well. If you would be interested in knowing more about Extratime then our website address is below. Briefly, we are a local charity working with many of the most severely disabled and challenging children and young people in the city, giving them the chance to play and socialise out of school hours.
